Taiyuan Economics Radio is exactly what you'd expect from a provincial Chinese music station - and that's not a bad thing. The playlist churns out the biggest Mandarin pop acts: Jay Chou, Jolin Tsai, Eason Chan, the usual suspects. Between the hits, the DJs talk in rapid-fire Mandarin about local events, traffic on Taiyuan's ring roads, maybe a trivia question that someone will win a rice cooker for.
