Laz folk doesn't ask for your attention. It takes it. The kemençe cuts through everything, that sharp Black Sea fiddle sound, and the tulum drones underneath like weather coming off the mountains. Lazuri Radyo sits right in that tradition, and it doesn't water it down for outsiders. Most of the playlist comes from Turkey's northeastern coast, Trabzon, Rize, Artvin, with songs in Laz, Turkish, and the odd Greek or Hemşin line drifting in.
