Radio Québec International proves that Canadian folk-pop isn't all about logging trucks and campfires. Sure, you'll hear Gordon Lightfoot's 'Sundown' on a Tuesday afternoon, but the station digs deeper. The evening show, if it's the same as last week, throws in some Laura Marlin-style storytelling with a Quebecois twist. It's refreshing. The daytime playlist leans toward accessible pop - think Feist or Patrick Watson - which keeps the vibe upbeat without being saccharine. The DJs have personality, too. They talk about the weather in Montreal like it's a personal grievance, which it kind of is.…
