WVBR has been Cornell University's alternative radio voice since the 1960s. The student-run station still sounds gloriously unpolished - dropped tracks, off-mic commentary, unexpected segues between Pavement and some obscure local band from Ithaca's basement scene. The daytime blocks lean into alternative staples, but late nights get truly weird: noise rock, experimental electronics, even spoken word pieces.
