Birgunj sits on Nepal's southern edge, pressed right against the Indian border, and the radio there sounds like that crossroads. It's a trading town, loud and multilingual, where a Hindi film song, a Maithili folk number and a Nepali pop track can share the same hour without anyone blinking. Don't expect polished big-city formatting; the charm here is looser than that.
