WNYU broadcasts from New York University with all the advantages and limitations that entails. The station exists to serve its campus first, with the rest of the world invited to listen in. Programming reflects student DJ sensibilities - eclectic, sometimes chaotic, occasionally brilliant. You might hear hardcore punk followed by jazz fusion followed by ambient music. That's not accidental. Student programmers are learning radio on the fly. Some shows shine with genuine curation. Others feel like someone's personal Spotify shuffle.
