Bhorukawa FM is hard to pin down, and I mean that as a compliment. The information out there is thin: no glossy website, no playlist claims, just a Nepali station doing what radio in Nepal has always done best, which is talk to its own neighborhood. Nepal's FM culture is unlike almost anywhere else. Community stations outnumber the big commercial players, and the dial is full of lok git, dohori, adhunik geet, and whatever the person behind the mic feels like playing. There's nothing slick about it. That's the appeal. I can't tell you what Bhorukawa FM airs at 7am, and I won't pretend otherwiseβ¦
