KCRW Danse 24 is the Santa Monica station's dancefloor annex, and it skips the polite stuff. Detroit techno, Chicago house, raw electro, the odd curveball. Sets run long and build slowly, which is how this music should be heard. Jeff Mills and Robert Hood sit next to Avalon Emerson and Octo Octa, with enough UK garage and breakbeat to keep you off-balance. Someone there actually cares about sequencing.
