Makalu FM is a general-interest station with a playlist that tracks whatever Nepal is actually listening to this week. One minute it's a Narayan Gopal adhunik classic. The next it's Sajjan Raj Vaidya, or a Hindi film song everyone already knows by heart. Folk gets real airtime too: madal-driven lok geet, the kind of music that sounds wrong on headphones and right on a bus speaker. That's the appeal.
