Radio Sagarmatha doesn't chase trends. It's a community station out of Kathmandu, one of the earliest independent ones in South Asia, and it still sounds like it belongs to the people who live there. Mornings lean talk-heavy: local governance, air quality, water shortages, the kind of stuff commercial FM ignores. Stick with it though, because the music blocks that follow are worth the wait. Expect adhunik geet, lok dohori, and sarangi-led folk alongside newer Nepali pop. Kutumba's frenetic Newari instrumentation sits next to 1974 AD and, on a good night, something like Bartika Eam Rai's quieteβ¦
